18th January 2010, 8.00 pm - 10 pm At the Edgeware District Reform Synagogue 118 Stonegrove, Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 8ABWe are delighted to welcome two exceptionally distinguished speakers on the theme. Imranali Panjwani, LLB, BA, MA, PGDip is a University of Sheffield Law Graduate. He joined the Al-Mahdi Institute seminary in Birmingham for his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Islamic Jurisprudence, Philosophy and Arabic. Concurrently he attended the College of Law to study on the Legal Practice Course. Presently he is a PhD Research Student in Theology & Religious Studies at King’s College London and works for the Centre for Islamic Shia Studies in London as its Research Co-ordinator. The title of his PhD thesis is: ‘Spirit, Soul, Human Dignity and Human Rights: A Muslim Shi’i Perspective.’ Rabbi Mark Goldsmith is one of the Rabbis at North Western Reform Synagogue in London. Before entering the progressive seminary at Leo Baeck College he ran a business supplying natural foods to mass caterers in Manchester and London. This led to his lifelong interest in the study and teaching of Jewish Business Ethics in Synagogues, at Limmud – the UK’s largest Jewish education conference and other venues, including, this year, the London Central Mosque. Rabbi Goldsmith’s Rabbinic thesis at Leo Baeck College was on the Jewish Law of Sale.
