Summary of Sheikh Shomali's lecture
News

shomaliA summary of key points of Sheikh Shomali's lectures can be found here or by reading below.

The first night lecture was spent on laying the foundation for the discussion about the topic. Some of the points discussed were as follows:
1. Allah (swt) has send 124,000 prophets (nabi), out of whom 313 were messengers (rasul).
2. All the Prophets (a) have come to help individuals in their journey towards God or in self-purification. In addition to this, the messengers have come for having a just universal community.
3. According to the verse 57:25, Allah (swt) sent His messengers to guide and help people so that people themselves establish justice. The Qur’an says: "Certainly We sent Our apostles with manifest proofs, and We sent down with them the Book and the Balance, so that mankind may maintain justice; and We sent down iron, in which there is great might and uses for mankind, and so that God may know those who help Him and His apostles in [their] absence. Indeed God is all-strong, all-mighty."
4. The messengers or apostles (rusul, pl. for rasul) presented first manifest signs and miracles to prove themselves and their authenticity to people and then provided them with the Book and the standards by which they could measure and discern what is right to do and what is wrong in order to avoid. The Prophets (anbiya, pl. for nabi) guided people towards this goal under the leadership of the messengers and preached their Book. It is not that every prophet was given a book by Allah (swt).

Ashra-Muharram 1435 Statement
News

May our reward and yours be increased by the tragedy of Aba Abdilllah Al-Hussain (A). We send our condolences to the Holy Lady, Sayyidah Fatima (A) and the Imam of our time, Imam Sahib-uz-Zamaan (A).

We pray to Allah (SWT) that he gives us tawfeeq to commemorate the Aza’ programmes over the next two months.

Based on His Eminence Ayatullah Sistani’s ruling of non-unity of horizons, the first day of Muharram 1435 in Europe will be on Wednesday 6th of November 2013. The 10th of Muharram will therefore be on Friday. However, Ashura ceremonies all over the world will be in conjunction with Karbala - on Thursday the 14th of November 2013. For those in Europe who have Nadhr to fulfill, they can do it based on Wednesday being the 1st day.

We at Hujjat are starting the Ashra-Muharram series of programmes a night earlier to be able to align ourselves with the commemoration of Ashura on Thursday 14th November as recommended by Ayatullah Sistani.

For the rest of the Muharram programmes including Dasmu and 4th Imam’s Shahadat, please follow the Hujjat calendar.

With Salaams and Dua's
