Dr Masuma Jaffer – Resident Aalima
Dr Masuma Jaffer has a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies and has also undertaken Hawza studies in Qum. She obtained a PGCE (a teaching qualification) and taught at The Islamic College, London. Dr Masuma has a diploma in Counselling and is a qualified chaplain, having worked with female prisoners at HM Prison Holloway and with Hertfordshire Police advising them on Islamic matters. She is also a qualified dentist.
Dr Masuma has been the Resident Aalima at Hujjat Stanmore since 2016, and has conducted workshops, seminars and classes on a variety of topics, from a focussed analysis of specific personalities such as Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and Imam Mahdi (atf), to bringing up children in today’s society. She also conducts individual counselling sessions with members of the community and is renowned for her confidentiality and practical advice.
