Salaam Alaykum Dear Brothers and Sisters
The Hujjat Covid-19 Task Force, consisting of 5 medical professionals, several EC members and relevant parties was formed on Monday 2nd March.
The remit of the Task Force was to keep a finger on the pulse of the local and global coronavirus situation and apply/interpret relevant guidance as it relates to our community.
On the evening of Wednesday 4th March the jamaat took the difficult decision, in liaison with the Task Force, to suspend programmes at the centre through a joint announcement with Hyderi jamaat.
Since that time the overall situation is being constantly evaluated on a regular basis. All jamaat activities have been risk assessed to ensure your safety is paramount.
Certain activities have remained operationally active as they have been deemed ok to do so after careful consultation. Others, such as majaalis, unfortunately, have not. The jamaat and AV team have ensured key programmes have been live streamed and will continue do so via hujjat.org.
We are looking at ways to restore normal activities in a sensible manner but are mindful that the current situation is unlikely to change in the near future.
The EC and Task Force are meeting with key jamaat BUJUs and subcommittees in a roundtable discussion this week to decide upon a unified way forward.
We thank you all, members, volunteers and attendees, for your patience and support during this tumultuous time.
We pray to Allah for protection and healing
All best wishes and duas
Hujjat Covid-19 Task Force
